this is what i said to marie, who posts our poems for the tupelo 30/30 project: “you know you’re desperate when you pull out prose poem, list poem and ars poetica all in one day.” and it’s early to be this desperate!! but i’ve had a full day with my boys, and i don’t want to spend too much time at the computer. so… i wrote about how the poem almost didn’t happen. it’s kind of cheating. it’s like forging a parent’s signature on a note at school. it’ll take a bit for the “poem” to appear with the other day 7 poems (they’re posted in batches a couple times a day). but all’s well: i’ll recover from the (failed) bunt. and you’ll give me another at-bat tomorrow!
and speaking of baseball… is it spring yet? tell me it is.
